Description: Teachers’ Day 2019 Teachers are the most gifted souls who guide their students, holding their hands firmly through every ups and downs of life. Considering this, we celebrate “Teachers’ day” every year on 5th September, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to show our gratitude for our “Gurus.” This year teachers’ day started with the grand entering of our teachers in the campus, when the anchors of the programme talked about the importance of the day. All the students were cheering the teachers as they went through the red carpet. The programme officially started with the “lighting of lamp.”A melodious welcome song by our school choir set the mood of everyone in the program. Then our Fr. Rector, a newcomer in our school told us about the importance of teachers in a student life through his speech. It was followed by the Indo-Western dance by the little ones of primary section. Their energetic performance showed us the love of students for their teachers. The heart-touching speech by Siddharth Singh (Student Council President) truly mesmerized the teachers and made the audience students realise how compassionate, encouraging and promising our teachers are, without whom our life would have been meaningless. The Western Dance team of high school took the charge immediately and filled the atmosphere with enjoyment and happiness. Fr.Principal delivered a speech and helped us to reflect about the untiring efforts of our teachers. It was the time for the most anticipated part of the day, the Do as Directed game where teachers got involved in a truth and dare game. It also comprised of a lucky draw at the end. All the teachers were awarded a token of appreciation for participating. A retro song performance comprising of remix of 19 songs of 80’s and 90’s era took us back to those golden era of music which our teachers appreciate a lot. The words of Sushma Ma’am, one of our senior teachers went straight through the mind, body and soul of everyone present in the campus. Many had tears rolling down their eyes listening her. She ended up singing the song,”Muskurane ki vajah tum ho” in ever her melodious voice. The last event by the students was the musical skit, written and directed by Ravindra Sir which taught us the lesson that “Parents are the biggest teachers.” It started with a scene of mischievous students and ended up with the tragic story of a girl who becomes a topper in UPSC exams. The whole skit was very emotional and everyone’s heart was fully grasped by the facial emotions of the acting students as well as by the whole story. Mr. Ajit Kumar Jha(XPTA President) shared his past experiences and told us that God and Teachers both are equivalent and must be loved and respected. Fr. Vice Principal gave the vote of thanks to all the coordinators, participating students and especially the Student Council Members, headed by their President who played a key role in making the day a successful one. The programme ended with the National Anthem. Students went to their classrooms along with the teachers and spend some time with them.
