The students of our school once again got an opportunity to participate in an activity of their choice, during the Summer camp programme held in the school from 16th of May to 31st of May. There were many activities like - - swimming, yoga, karate, spoken English, classical and western dance, table tennis and art and craft for kid zone. From 6:30 to 9:30 in the morning the school was abuzz with activities and excitement. It was not only the children but their parents as well who accompanied them, were full of enthusiasm as they too were found helping their wards painting and completing craft work. This is the joy of sharing and learning with our kids which we often miss performing the daily chores. The children learnt freely without the fear of losing lingering over their head. This was the time when they rediscovered their hidden talents which needs to be carved out and groomed. The fifteen days programme reached its climax on the last day, 31st of May with a colorful presentation of the children from each activity. It started with the classical dance, welcoming the audience followed by western dances by the students. The students formed different postures, demonstrating the aasans of yoga to remind us that a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. The students shared their experiences of different activities like spoken English which had given them confidence to speak before the crowd. They learnt many new words through word games and assignments. The students of karate demonstrated the balance of body and mind through different acts as break down, breaking tiles with hand and even with head. The programme was very well anchored by two students, one of class VI and the other of class VIII. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Fr. Principal who appreciated the role of parents who helped their wards in different activities, sitting with them and appreciating them at their every move and stressed that this effort of theirs should continue even at home. This was the main motive of holding such a programme, sinking the efforts of the three pillars of learning - - - students, teachers and parents. Fr. thanked the XPTA members, the teachers, staff members, parents and students for making the efforts of so many people successful. He then directed all the parents to the school hall to see the display of the handwork and drawings made by the students of kid zone with the help of their teachers. It was marvelous to see such colorful creations with things of daily use. Though the summer vacation for these students starts from today, their minds would surely be lit by their thrilling experience during these days and will definitely help them reach and recreate a new world of creation in future. It will also help them learn other things better by transfer of training. These small activities in small groups help people quench their thirst to fulfill their desires which often remains unheard and leads to many maladies The strong and wise initiative taken by the school is really praiseworthy and we look forward for such other activities in future. It leaves a message how we can make our scorching summer cool and fill every minute not with complaint but with some creativity.
