Description: KidZone, the Pre-Primary wing of St. Xavier’s High School, celebrated Children’s
Day on 7 th of November, 2023 by organizing a puppet show ‘Titli Ki Kahani’ in
the Loyola hall. This was the first time that a puppet show was organized for the
children by KidZone teachers.
The children arrived at school dressed-up in colourful clothes. The programme
began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers followed by informative
and inspirational speech by the co-ordinator Mrs. Shivani Bhaskar about the great
leader, thinker, visionary and a true statesman-Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The first
Prime Minister of Independent India was extremely fond of children and the
programme clearly depicted the spirit of the occasion.
Our Principal Rev. Fr. K.P. Dominic, S.J., our Rector Rev. Fr. Daniel Raj, S.J., and
Vice-Principal Rev. Fr. Junas Kujur, S.J., graced the occasion with their presence.
Children love to play with toys and puppets. Their happiness knew no bounds
watching the puppet show. The Loyola hall was brimming with excitement,
enthusiasm and cheerful smiles of the kids. The puppet show not only entertained
the little hearts but also motivated them to protect their environment by not hurting
the animals and planting more trees. The dynamic teachers of KidZone enthralled
the children with voice modulation and effective movements of stick puppets. The
whole show was undoubtedly a visual treat for all.
After the puppet show, there was also a lucky draw for LKG and UKG kids.
Children got excited after winning the draw. They also had art and craft activities
on the occasion of Children’s Day in their classes. They made beautiful paper bags
and flower pots with flowers. After completion of these activities, children happily
enjoyed and shared their favorite lunch with their friends and took the sweet
memories of Children’s Day celebration home.
