Description: On 19 th September, 2023, thirty four students of LTS (Leadership Training Service) embarked on an exciting field trip to a Milk factory, Mother Diary, Dudha (Raj Fresh). This trip was organized by LTS group under the leadership of our animator, Dr. Punam Gupta, accompanied by our sports teacher Mr. Yogendra Prasad Dubey. The purpose of this excursion was to provide students with firsthand knowledge and process of milk products. On reaching the milk factory, we were warmly welcomed by Indra Jeet Kumar Vimal, who was the site Incharge of the milk factory. He gave us a brief introduction about the milk factory and its operation and then our excursion took up its velocity. First, we reached at the collecting part of the milk. Here Mr. Jeet explained us about the definition and composition of milk, He said “Milk is a food or a lacto product that is obtained by milch animals.” We took the next step of our excursion and reached to laboratory and testing section. Here we observed and witnessed the careful testing of milk for quality, temperature and bacterial content. Different chemicals were used in the laboratory which ensured the freshness of the milk & milk products. This unit was managed by Mr. K.D. Singh who was the manager of quality control in Dudha. Next we reached to Pasteurization section where we learnt about the critical process of pasteurization. Mr. Indra Jeet Kumar Vimal explained about this process. In this, milk is processed within 16 seconds and works on a principal called “Hazard analyses CCP”. The milk is then heated on (80±2) 0 c temperature in order to kill microbes which works on CCP process. A step forward was now taken during this excursion and milk was ready to be packed and to be sold for the commercial purpose. Meanwhile other dairy products were being prepared with the processed milk like Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun. Peda, Ghee, Balushahi, etc. At the end of excursion, the LTS team members were provided with various dairy products which was prepared in Dudha itself like:- Gulab Jamun and Rasgulla which brought a sweet end in our excursion. In conclusion, I want to state that this was one of the best excursions of LTS members which was filled with a lot of experience and learning about new things and joyful moments. Moreover I would like to thank Mr. Indra Jeeet Kumar Vimal, Mr. K.D. Singh and Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta for their hospitality, knowledge sharing and for providing us with this wonderful opportunity to experience such a wonderful excursion. At last but not the least I would also like to thank leadership training service programme for encouraging us with essential skills like communication and decision-making which is necessary for success in the future role as a leader. Moreover, I would also like to thank my school for organizing leadership training service and focusing on providing workshops, and extra-curricular activities to empower student and develop their leadership potential.
