Description: Patriotic song competition__ St. Xavier 's envisages its mission,' For God and Country ' which was once again proved to be actualized on 13th of August, 2016 on the occasion of Inter School Patriot Group Song Competition hosted by the school. Almost all the schools of Patna were invited and participated in the competition. The Chief guest, Sri Purushottam N. Singh the Director of Bihar Doordarshan along with the judges, Fr. Arun Ignatius, S.J., Fr. Dionysius Rasquinah, S.J. and Mr. Edward Raphael honoured the programme. The participants were divided in two categories - - - junior and senior groups. From junior group Loyola High School won the first prize for the song 'Hum sab bhartiya hain', Carmel High School bagged the second prize and the third prize was won by St. Xavier 's High School. In the senior group first prize was won by Radiant International School, second by Gyan Niketan, Gola Road and the third by Notre Dame Academy. It turned out to be a celebration rather than a competition. The atmosphere was charged with the tricolor, the stage was decorated with balloons of saffron, white and green, the children had worn bands, badges, sashes of tricolor. More than 200 students along with their teachers housed together under the roof of the School hall of St. Xavier's. Winning and losing was the part of the competition but the strong feelings of patriotism which had pulled so many hearts was really praiseworthy. It is this feeling which will build up the nation for which all of us are working St. Xavier's congratulates all those who participated to make its motto 'For God and Country' successful.
