Description: The 3rd Annual Sports Day of KidZone was celebrated with great enthusiasm in St. Xavier's High School, Patna on 23rd November 2024.
The school's playground was overflowing with zeal, passion and excitement. The programme began with the arrival of the Chief Guest Mr. Shirsat Kapil Ashok, IAS (MD. Bihar Road Development Corporation Ltd) scouted by the tiny tots. The guests of honour were Rev. Sr. Josseta SSH, Superior General, Sisters of Sacred Heart & Dr Vikas Kumar Associate Professor, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna. The esteemed guests were welcomed by our Principal Rev. Fr. K.P. Dominic, S.J.
The programme started with the oath taking ceremony by the children of KidZone followed by March Past by the students of UKG with each section represented by a different colour and their leaders carrying the marching flag.
The chief guest addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. He was delighted to see the little participants and applauded Fr. Principal, KidZone coordinator Mrs. Shivani Bhaskar and the teachers for organizing such a mega sports meet for the pre-schoolers. The chief guest declared the sports meet officially open with the release of the peace dove.
The first drill was a guest performance by the 10+2 students of St. Xavier’s High School (BSEB). They performed Yoga aasans beautifully co-ordinated, in mesmerizing pyramids. The drill was followed by race of LKG & UKG – A. Their race was filling the basket, and it was a delight to see the little champs in red, racing while filling their baskets with the balls that were layed on their tracks. The next race was of LKG & UKG – B who performed balancing the stick. It came as a surprise to see the usually restless kids in yellow, walking with such balance, showing their patience as they reached their finishing line.
Shortly, hereafter, the guest of honour Sr. Josseta SSH addressed the audience and then the winners of section A & B were presented with medals.
Next was the performance of LKG Drill. They put up a vibrant show with pink fans which began energetically with cartwheel stunt. The tiny tots surpassed the audience expectation by their performance.
The next race was hurdle race of LKG & UKG – C. The kids in blue, ran jumping over every hurdle in their way, followed by LKG & UKG-D who were balancing the balls.
After the race of section C & D, our guest of honour Dr. Vikas Kumar gave an inspiring speech, followed by the felicitation of the winners of section C & D.
The next was the aerobic performance of UKG Drill students. Their dance and formation brought smiles to everyone’s face.
The last race was Pack the Bag Race of LKG and UKG – E. The children ran while filling their bags with book, lunch, pencil box and water bottle and packing it hurriedly to finish line. Next, were the group events of LKG & UKG Drill and March Past students which were cone race and tunneling the ball respectively. Then, medals were distributed to the winners of LKG & UKG-E.
Rev. Fr. Junas Kujur, S.J., our Vice-Principal gave a comprehensive vote of thanks and then it was time for the grand finale. All the classes came with their class teachers to the field waving to the guests and their parents. Fr. Principal appreciated all the participants, winners and teachers of KidZone and declared the sports meet over.
Everyone rose up for the National Anthem and with this the 3rd Annual Sports Day of Xavier’s KidZone was officially ended.
