Description: Like every year this year also, St. Xavier's celebrated 1st May , Labour day to mark the day of thanks to our coworkers, without whose help it is not possible for us to work in a neat, clean and healthy atmosphere. A special assembly was conducted by the B.Ed trainees on this occasion. They brought out the importance of the day, saying that this day is celebrated to acknowledge the efforts of the labourers who work for any association or organization and are paid for their services rendered. People either working with cement and brick in construction or those toiling under the pressure of files fall under this category. God has created us all equal and work is worship as we all serve for God and should be proud of it. The students garlanded our coworkers as a mark of respect after they had seated themselves on the stage during the morning assembly. Fr. Principal wished them and thanked them for their efforts. Our school choir sang the ever popular song 'Sathi haath badhana, ek akela thak jaega milkar haath badhana....' making the atmosphere sombre and melodious. Thereafter all the teachers and staff members wished them. It was a great to see so many hands praying for those hands who serve so many. This is our culture, respect and tolerance for all, which we tend to impart in our students. We should acknowledge their efforts everyday and thank them for their services.
