Description: St. Xavier’s High School, Patna celebrated the birth anniversaries of Mahatma
Gandhi, the father of Our Nation, and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the Second Prime
Minister of India, in a Special Assembly on Saturday 1 st October, 2022.
To imbibe a true meaning of the day and follow glorious trails of the noble souls
towards evolving a peaceful and prosperous world, the students prepared and
delivered special speeches with Gandhian quotes and messages of Shri Lal
Bahadur Shastri. Their portraits were beautifully decorated with garlands and
flowers. A floral tribute was paid by the management of the school and teachers.
The choir of the school sang Gandhiji’s favourite bhajan “Vaishnav Janto” and “De Di Hamein Aazaadi”, with full exuberance thus creating an ambience of peace, sacrifice and non-violence. The life-teachings and the principles of these two great leaders were depicted through a tableau which the students presented in the most eloquent manner. Our Principal, Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan, S.J., told the students in his speech to follow the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi and to be self reliant like him. He also reminded the students about the significant contributions of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri as the Prime Minister of India. All the students of the school were made to vow to become better citizens and to spread the crusade of cleanliness by the teacher of our school, Mrs. Sunita Jha. The assembly finally dispersed by singing the National Anthem.
Indeed, it was a short yet impactful event portraying and promoting the philosophy
and strategies of the pioneers of our Nation.
