Description: St. Xavier’s High School, Patna witnessed a grand show on the occasion of its Annual Day on 1st December, 2018 under the supervision of the Rector, Fr. Jose Elampassery,S.J., Principal, Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan , S.J. and the Vice- Principal, Fr.Devashish Prasad, S.J. It was a proud moment for the management, teachers, students, staff, parents and all present there to be a part of the gala event with many dignitaries that housed in the school premises.
The programme started at 4:30 p.m. with the inauguration by the chief guest, Dr. Aditya Prakash, IAS (2014) DDC Patna. The guests of honour were Dr. Shankar Dutt, (HOD) Dept. of English, Patna University and Dr. Shivendra Sahay , an alumni and a reputed eye surgeon. The programme started with lighting of the lamp followed by welcome song , prayer dance and a folk dance of Bihar. The main attraction of the show was the musical drama,‘Jagao Mera Desh ‘, based on the poem, ‘Where the mind is without fear ‘ by Rabindra NathTagore. It presented a panoramic view of the cultural heritage of India, its plight, suggesting ways how we can regain our lost glory and be united. Two students of class X, Shristi Anand and Akshit Kumar were awarded Xavier Medallists. It was a collective effort to commemorate the glory of our country, India along with celebrating the glorious achievements of the school and awarding the students.
The chief guest lauded the students for their excellent and colourful performance and wished for the upcoming good work. The Vice-Principal paid the vote of thanks and the programme ended with the National Anthem.
