Description: There is always that one summer that changes you. Summer vacation is
eagerly awaited by everyone to relax, revive, rejoice and rejuvenate. Especially
the students long for their summer camp during summer vacations as it
liberates them from the regular routine of studies and habits.
After a long gap of two years incurred by the Covid pandemic, the Almighty
graced the students of St. Xavier’s High School with the opportunity to take
part in the summer camp and explore new stuff and develop new skills.
The summer camp began on 21 st May,2022 with an inaugural speech of the
X.P.T.A. President, Mr.A.K.Jha in the presence of Mr. Amar Prakash who
coordinated the entire summer camp programme meticulously. It was
conducted for eight days with great fun and frolic. The students of pre-primary
to middle school participated enthusiastically in a number of activities that
comprised of basketball, painting, western dance, karate, swimming and
painting. All the activities were held in different time slots in a very organised
manner beginning from 6.30 a.m. to 9.45 a. m. The children indulged and
learnt several skill sets by their school teachers and some other external
trained professionals too. The activities of painting, art and craft were
beautifully taught by our teachers Mrs. Supriya Lucy, Mrs. Purnima Rani
Ashutosh and Mrs. Suchita Noel. Basketball and Karate were taken up by Mr.
Sanjeev and Mr. Sanjeet respectively. The art of swimmimg was instructed by
different coaches namely Mr. Yogendra Dubey, Mr. Ashok Kr. Singh, Mr.Arun
Dubey and Mr. Gantantra. The swimmimg of the girls was separately
monitored by Mrs. Puja Dubey and Mrs. S. Kashyap. Western Dance was
trained by Mr. Subhash. The teachers and the trainers were quite well-versed.
They imparted the skills to the children patiently, artistically and optimally.
Staying active is the essential nature of every child, and summer camp time
provides a platform for them to keep their mind and body fit. The summer
camp finally ended on 28 th May, 2022. Though the time period was shorter this
time but it proved extremely beneficial to the students. It gave the magical
experience combined with the constant engagement of various fun activities.
It improved the overall personality of children and made them competitive by
developing multiple skill sets thereby enhancing their social and interpersonal
skills.
Our sincere gratitude to Fr. Principal, Fr. A. Christu Savarirajan S.J., Fr. Vice-
Principal Fr. Junas Kujur S.J. for this wonderful initiative and Mr. Amar Prakash
along with all other organising committee members for their painstaking
efforts for making this summer camp a fruitful, enjoyable and a memorable
one.
