Description: The inaugural Clay Art Competition in our school, exclusively for LTS members, marked a celebration of creativity and leadership qualities. Under the guidance of Dr. Punam Gupta, our dedicated LTS animator, 21 enthusiastic participants unleashed their artistic flair. The event, a first of its kind in our school, provided a platform to showcase individual creativity. We were allotted three periods for the competition to complete our artworks. The venue for the competition was Loyola Hall. Participants were given the freedom to express themselves, resulting in a diverse array of clay masterpieces. Some crafted intricate models of Gods and Goddesses like the Shivling and Lord Krishna, while others explored floral art through creations like flower vases. The artistic spectrum extended to landscapes, bird house, wall hanging, ecosystem, iron man and even whimsical snowman. We utilized various types of clay, including super clay, moludit clay, and Play-dough. Working with clay presented some challenges, but as we understand, consistent practice leads to perfection. Super clay, lighter than mouldit clay offered a vibrant array of colours, enhancing its visual appeal. In contrast, mouldit clay naturally hardens at a specific point, making it suitable for artistic endeavours such as lippan art and jewelry crafting. In the midst of this creative exploration, I personally undertook the challenge of sculpting a model of Goddess Saraswati, inspired by the theme of Saraswati Puja. Though not an easy task, the process was a testament to the power of determination, proving that a resolute mind can yield remarkable result. Guided by Dr. Punam Gupta, the competition not only fostered artistic expression but also provided a learning experience for all the participants. The joy derived from crafting these unique clay pieces was palpable, creating a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and enjoyment. For many of us, including myself, this competition marked a novel experience, offering a refreshing departure from routine activities. The organizers deserve heartfelt gratitude for envisioning such a creative and enjoyable event. The thematic focus on true leadership qualities added depth to the artistic endeavour, reinforcing the idea that leadership is as much about creativity and innovation as it is about guidance and support. Our artworks were adjudged by our belovedKid Zone teachers, Mrs. Suprity Chauhan and Mrs. Nandita A. Shaw. Their discerning eyes and encouragement added to the excitement of the event. In conclusion, the Clay Art Competition was a resounding success, bringing together the LTS community to celebrate art, creativity, and the spirit of leadership. I am sincerely thankful to all the organizers for orchestrating this unique and memorable event.
